This genre pretty much was started by an American heavy metal band called Manowar, with partial help from Manilla Road, in the late 1980's. It's lyrical themes deal with: Mysticism, Fantasy and Folklore. In sound it's more Iron Maiden-esque, than N.W.O.B.H.M. which was the most melodic of the 80's British metal scene. Power Metal is like a more melodic speed metal in sound. While Speed metal is more raw and agressive than it's Power metal counterpart.

I love manowar i mean they have some good anthems.
I enjoy power metal it has a wonderful vibe to it.
I enjoy Helloween , I know them to be power metal are they.I am not too good in classifying bands and I hope this forum helps me with that
