ok. A lot of people mix up Deathcore for Grindcore, I was one of those people when i started getting into Extreme metal, some years ago.
But what is the difference between Grind and Deathcore?
1. There is none of that breakdown stuff in the riffing of Grindcore, that in the tradition of Metalcore and Deathcore.
2. Just listen to these bands and compare for urself. The best way is o just listen for urself:
Phobia
Napalm Death (older albums to avoid the confusion with the mixtures of modern death metal)
Nasum
Brutal Truth
Extreme Noise Terror (later stuff, not too late cause they death metal now)
Anal Cunt
Repulsion (on the archives they say Death/Grind but trust me this is the Grindcore sound, the lyrics are about death)
Search for more pure Grind, avoid mixtures not to get confused at 1st
Deathcore bands are really just metalcore bands progressing to Death and Grindcore bands.
Like Suicide Silence, who claimed to be grindcore and had no idea what their sound was.
